Sarah Jane Barnett is a poet, creative writing tutor and book reviewer. Sarah’s poetry has been published in New Zealand, Australia, and the US, and her debut collection A Man Runs into a Woman was published by Hue & Cry Press in 2012. The collection was shortlisted as a finalist in the 2013 New Zealand Post Book Awards. Sarah teaches creative writing at Massey University. She lives in Wellington, New Zealand, with her husband and son.
Sarah has a PhD in English from Massey University, New Zealand. Her PhD combined creative writing with critical research, where the research examined the strategies used by American poet Robert Hass to write about nature. Sarah’s undergrad was in photography, and back in those days photographs were printed under a red light, or in other words, in a red room.
